Man Wanted for Murder Turns Himself In

Donna (KFXV) -- Carlos Aguilar wanted for criminal attempted murder murder turn himself into Sheriff's deputies and was transported to the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Adult Detention Center.
On September 20th, a sheriff's deputy responded to JD's Drive Thru store located at 537 W. Sioux Rd in rural Donna. Officers investigating the case and were able to identified the victim who suffered an apparent gunshot wound. Through the course of the investigation, the Sheriff's investigators learned that the incident stemmed from a drug deal gone bad.

2nd suspect in drive-thru store attempted homicide faces judge

Donna (KFXV) -- A second suspect in connection to an attempted homicide case out of drive-thru store parking lot is facing charges . Investigators determined this man 33 year old has Jesus Alberto Palacios was involved in a shooting that left a man hospitalized on September 20th.

Palacios faced a judge who charged him with one count of criminal attempted homicide and evading arrest. Authorities initially classified the case as an aggravated assault but further investigation revealed the more nefarious motive which resulted in the more serious charges.

Palacios bond is set at $510,000 and the police are looking to make more arrests in this case.

Traffic Backed-Up After Accident in Donna

DONNA (KFXV) -- Traffic along Expressway 83 was backed up earlier today due to an accident.

The incident involving a white pickup truck carrying debris that was strewn along the highway. Traffic had to be exited off the freeway along the Hutto Road exit. There is no word from authorities on if anyone was injured. The city of Donna Police Department responded to the call and are now conducting an investigation.

Victor Javier Briseno Gets New Trial Date

Hidalgo County (KFXV) -- Another date is set in the trial against 23 year old, Victor Javier Briseno. He's accused of double homicide in the death of Victor Reyes and Ramon Vasquez, whose bodies were found on Maiz Avenue in Donna. The trial is set for November 10th.

Police Seek JD's Drive Thru Suspect

DONNA (KFXV) -- Police are actively searching for a suspects in connection to an aggravated robbery. Investigators have identified the man sought as 38 year old, Fermin Saucedo. He is one of several suspects that police believed had robbed "JD’s' Drive Thru back on September 30th. When police arrived they found a man with a gunshot wound. Donna (KFXV) - A body was found south of Valley View Road and Military Highway at around 5 this afternoon. Officials from sheriff's department and border patrol assisted in the incident as well. Officials continue to investigate the case and will keep you updated with the latest.

Donna KFXV) -- Police are confirming a shooting on Hutto Street and Hwy 83 on Frontage Rd. FOX cameras were rolling as police invaded the area. Investigators say several people were involved, two of them transported to the hospital. At this hour, police are still looking for the others. Federal Agencies Open New Detention Center in Donna

Donna (KFXV) -- Federal agencies came together today for the opening of a new detention center for illegal immigrants. The facility will house up to 500 people and officials say they will expand if necessary. Custom and Border Protection Commissioner, Gil Kerlikoski lead a press conference and tour of the faciclities today, saying all who arrive and are detained at the center will be treated with respect and in a humane way. Border Patrol has indicated their has been a rise in the amount of people and families coming in through our border and the need for this new facility that is set to open this friday.

Authorities Search for Weapon in Deadly Shooting

Donna (KFXV) -- Authorities are following leads to recover evidence from a deadly shooting that occurred Monday afternoon. A Mission Fire Department Dive Team searched a Palmview canal for the murder weapon but were not able to find it. Donna police said the suspect, 51-year-old, Benito Hernandez-Ovalle, stated he had thrown his gun in a canal near Bentsen Palm Drive and Charles Street. He adds they requested the help of Mission's Fire Department Dive Team to locate the weapon.The search started around 8 this morning but was not found. Hernandez-Ovalle was arraigned yesterday and charged with murder. His bond set at $1,750,000. He's currently behind bars at the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office. Captain Suarez says they'll continue following other leads to recover evidence that will be used against the suspect's case.

Police Identify Man In High Speed Chase

McAllen (KFXV) -- Authorities have confirmed the identity of a man that lead police on high speed chase through several valley cities. 25 year old, Matias Alejandro Rocha of Roma was arrested minutes after the pursuit ended. It all started in Donna, went through Alamo, San Juan and Pharr and ended at the intersection of McColl and 495. Agents from several different agencies inspected his vehicle and discovered methamphetamines. He faces charges for evading arrest, and possession of a controlled substance. His bond set at $15,000 dollars.

Donna EMS and fire department officials along with the police arrived on the scene. As of now, information on injuries has not been released or how the accident happened. Lifeless man Found on Donna Street

Donna (KFXV) -- A man is found dead lying in the street Sunday evening. The incident happened near the 700 block of Highway 83 in front of a convenience store. Police haven't released any information regarding the incident, but it is suspected the man is a victim of a hit and run. Family of the man remained at the scene wanting answers. FOX cameras captured the moment as authorities removed the man's body from the roadway for a more extensive investigation. Witnesses say the didn't hear or see anything unusual before the discovery. We will bring you updates as more information is released.

Pursuit Leads to Drug Bust in Donna

DONNA (KFXV) -- Two men are in police custody this evening, after leading several agencies on a high-speed chase. The pursuit ended near South Avenue and South Hutto Road in Donna -- less than a mile away from an elementary school. A spokesperson from the Department of Public Safety tells us, they assisted Border Patrol near the Pharr area. They were following the driver of a gray Honda -- who was driving recklessly and into on-coming traffic and forcing people off the road. Officials confirmed the deployment of spikes to stop the vehicle, but they were unsuccessfu. The driver finally decided to come to a stop near a residence -- where along with the passenger, was placed in custody, as our cameras were rolling. At the scene, DPS did seize at least 10 sacks with bundles of marijuana inside. Residents from that area were not allowed to go into their homes, as the scene remained active for several hours. No injuries were reported in this incident, however the two suspects are expected to face charges during the following days.

Donna (KFXV) -- Fox cameras were first on the scene after a chase ended in a Donna neighborhood. Two men were arrested and faced a judge today. The driver of the vehicle - identified by police as 20-year-old, Jonathan Chavez - struck a tree in the front yard of a home on South Avenue near Hutto Road. Investigators say - Chavez then reversed the vehicle and deliberately struck a dps units while trying to get away. Inside his car, police found 10 bundles of marijuana, totaling 239 pounds, with an estimated street value - of nearly a million and a half dollars. Chavez faces charges for evading arrest, possession of marijuana and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities also arresting his passenger, identified as 49-year-old, Melcho Gaspar Diaz-Ponce a resident of Mexico -who’s charged with possession of marijuana. Both were transported to the Hidalgo County Jail.

Donna (KFXV) -- Just a few hours ago police released this photo of 27 year old, Isai Varela - suspected of gunning down the man and women and are asking for the help of all Fox viewers to find him. We heard police activity -- a disturbance at around 10:30 last night. So we headed out there being able to capture the moments ambulances arrived on scene to render aid to the victims involved in this shooting. Ambulances, sirens and crime tape surrounded this apartment complex in Donna after a call for shots fire was made. Police say after finding the body of a woman another victim was located inside an apartment with several gunshot wounds but still responsive. We were present as investigator arrived at the murder site-- closing of the area and questioning possible witnesses. Today the victims who lost their life in the shooting were identified as Felicia Solis and Jose Alfredo Zuniga, who police say were believed to be a couple living in this apartment at the 8000 block of E Alberta Road. Two children between the ages of 3 and 6 years old also resided in the apartment at the murder scene, and according to investigators both ran to a neighbor's home asking for help and are now helping in the investigation. This morning officials searched a home in Alamo under the owner's consent and at the same time, conducted interviews and analyzed surveillance video to find the person responsible of the murders. And just over an hour ago, law enforcement identified this man, 27 year old Isai Varela as the main suspect in the double murder issuing a capital murder warrant against him.

Rosary Held for Woman Killed in Donna Double Homicide

Donna (KFXV) -- We begin tonight with family and friends of Felicia Solis who gathered at Hawkins Funeral Home for a rosary. Solis along with her boyfriend were the two victims found dead last week of a double homicide. The family is asking for your help and if would like to donate to the Solis family, and Felicia's three daughters-- they have set up a go-fund-me website, under "In Memory of Felicia Solis." As we reported-FOX cameras were first on the scene late Thursday night at an apartment complex on Alberta Road in a rural portion of Donna where authorities were responding to reports of shots fired. Officers found 26-year-old Felicia Solis, and her boyfriend 30-year-old, Jose Alfredo Zuniga - dead in cold blood with multiple gunshot wounds. Police less than 24 hours later - issued a capital murder warrant for 27-year-old, Isai Varela -- who is believed to have fled to Rio Bravo, Mexico. Funeral Held for Woman Killed in Donna Double Homicide

Donna (KFXV) -- Authorities are still searching for the lead suspect in a double homicide that took place last week in a rural portion of Donna. Isai Varela is wanted for capital murder, and is believed to have fled to Rio Bravo, Mexico where he has family. As we reported, authorities found the bodies of Felicia Solis and jose Alfredo Solis at their apartment complex, after receiving reports of shots fired in the area. This morning, family and friends held a funeral service for Felicia in Donna. Family describing her as a "free spirit" and had a "sense of humor that could light up a room" . She leaves behind three children, Zachary, Emily and Landon,along with her parents, and two sisters. Donna Man Calls Police After Being Stabbed

Donna (KFXV) --Authorities responded to reports of a stabbing in Donna. According to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department; Upon responding to the report, they discovered that the victim's vehicle had several blood stains. The man said he was assaulted on 493 west of Stites Road, in rural Donna. The alleged victim was transported to a local hospital and his condition is stable. Various suspects have been identified in connection to the assault. The vehicle and the case are under investigation.

Aggravated Robbery While ‘Buying Diapers’

Hidalgo County (KFXV) -- Hidalgo County Sheriff's investigators have arrested a man suspected of an aggravated robbery. He's identified as Edgar Gonzalez Vasquez; accused of pulling out a gun on a man and taking an undisclosed amount of cash from him. The victim reported Vasquez came to his home on the 1500 block of Colima Drive in the city of Donna-- asked if he wanted to buy diapers and stole money from him. The victim did not suffer any injuries. The 33 year old suspect is charged with aggravated robbery and a judge handed down a 500,000 dollar bond.
