Four Donna Teens Face Aggravated Robbery Charges
Hidalgo County (KFXV) – Four teens face charges in connection to an aggravated robbery. Four teens are facing hundreds of thousands of dollars in bonds after committing a home invasion early Monday morning. Matthew Vargas, Cervando Calderon, Jesus Munoz, Oswald Rios, All 17-years-old as well as 18-year-old Eric Ramos broke into home on Catherine Street in North Donna. Police say their goal was to steal drugs from 18-year-old Alex Salas. But never imagined the aggravated robbery would go wrong.
Oswald Rios was shot in the torso and remains in critical condition.

The four suspects are facing one count of aggravated robbery and criminal activity on $200,000 bond each. The investigation officials also discovered that Salas who was a victim in this crime is also a convicted felon. He’s also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana, and possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute.
At this moment Hidalgo County deputies are waiting Rios to be released from the hospital so that he can also be charged in this case.

Officials Search for Hector Flores-Diaz
Hidalgo County officials are asking the help of all Fox viewers to find a man wanted for Family Violence. Thirty-three-year-old Hector Flores-Diaz is wanted for, assault, family violence, and assault causing bodily injury to a family member. He stands at 5’5” weighs 180 pounds, has brown hair, and brown eyes, and was last seen in Donna.

Fire displaces Two Families in Donna

Donna (KFXV) – The fire department responded to a blaze at an apartment complex on Silver and 17th street. According to officials the fire remains under investigation and destroyed two apartment units. Both families that lived there were displaced.
The Red Cross responded to offer resources and help to the families.
Over $900K in Liquid Meth Seized

PROGRESO (KFXV) — A major hit to drug cartels – as Customs Officers seize nearly $900,000 in liquid meth at the Progreso/ Donna port of entry.
The interception happened on April 29th. CBP officials today releasing these photos of the bust. Investigators say more than 59 pounds of meth were found in bottles of juice and milk. The suspects only identified as a 41-year-old female from Brownsville, was crossing the bridge on foot. The drugs found after a secondary inspection. The estimated street value $883,740 dollars.
The female suspect is in the custody of Homeland Security as the investigation in this case continues.
Police Investigate Shooting in Donna

Donna (KFXV) — The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating how one man received a gunshot wound this afternoon in Donna.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, around 2 this afternoon, deputies responded to reports of gunshots near a home located near Mile 10 North and FM 493. About an hour later, Donna PD notified deputies — they had a car matching the suspect vehicle along with two people under arrest. One of those men, had multiple gunshot wounds. The Sheriff’s Office and the Donna Police Department are coordinating their investigation.

One Detained After Police Chase in Donna

DONNA (KFXV) — Monday afternoon authorities placed one woman under arrest after leading police on a pursuit.
The chase ended near the intersection of Mile 11 1/2 and Goolie Road in Donna. Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety were involved in the incident around 3 pm Monday afternoon. Preliminary information indicates officers arrested one woman, but have not released any information regarding the incident. We will bring you updates as they are made available.
Man Arrested for Fatal Collision That Killed 2-Year-Old

DONNA (KFXV) — The Texas Department of Public Safety has arrested one man for allegedly causing the death of a two-year-old in a collision in Donna.
DPS reports 29-year-old, Ruben Hernandez — a resident of Mexico — has been arrested and charged of intoxication manslaughter and three counts of intoxication assault.
Hernandez veered into the oncoming lane and struck another vehicle, sending the passengers — a woman and two children — to the hospital. One of the children — 2-year-old, Axel Cuellar — died at the hospital. The second child has been released, but the woman remains hospitalized.
DPS troopers continue to investigate the crash.
Court Date Set for Donna Murder

DONNA (KFXV) — A court date has been set for a fatal shooting that took place in Donna.
According to court documents, Benito Hernandez stands accused of shooting Pedro Lopez Morales in December of last year near the frontage road.
Lopez Morales died at the hospital a few hours later from his wounds.
Hernandez later confessed to throwing the gun used in the shooting into a canal in Palmview.
Hernandez will go before a judge August 7th.
Body found beneath the Donna International Bridge

DONNA (KFXV) — A body found floating beneath the Donna International Bridge, prompts border patrol and the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office to open an investigation.
The discovery happened around 1:30 this afternoon. The man’s body showed signs of having been exposed to the elements for a while.
Sheriff’s deputies have confirmed the incident, but have not released any other information about the person or cause of death, and are pending an autopsy. We will bring you updates as they are made available.
Donna ISD Police Chief Fired by School Board

DONNA (KFXV) — For the second time in three years, Roy Padilla has been let go from his position as Donna ISD Police Chief.
It was during a school board meeting last week that the decision to fire Roy Padilla was made.
Three years after a first suspension from the Donna School District, Mr. Padilla was put on administrative leave without pay after an internal investigation in the district’s police department.
Today we know that Padilla is looking into making in appeal in his case.
Padilla allegedly filed a motion to have his case heard in an open meeting however, it was still discussed in a closed session.
Padilla’s future is still unclear at this time. The investigation is set to continue for the next couple of months.
Donna Drowning Victim identified

Donna (KFXV) — The identity of the man found decomposing under the Donna international bridge last week has been revealed. This makes him the 10th known person to die while crossing into the US since the beginning of the year.
Just seven days after finding a deceased body next to the Rio Grande. Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department identified Jorge Armando Garcia.
“June 29th at 10:12a.m. we responded to the Donna Port of Entry where we responded to a male body found in the river.”
Drownings in the rio grande are a common occurrence with undocumented immigrants crossing into the US the cause for Garcia’s death. With assistance from border patrol and other agencies officials were able to recover Garcia’s body which showed signs of exposure to the elements.
“Garcia was an undocumented immigrant who came from Tamaulipas Mexico.”
According to the sheriff’s department got he had previously been deported. He attempted to cross back into the United States where he then passed away due to accidental drowning in the river. Garcia is now the 10th undocumented person to pass away in Hidalgo County while attempting to enter into the country this year. In the fiscal year 2016 there was 30 suspected immigrant deaths and this year is averaging to be the same amount.
The sheriff’s department urges the public to take precaution when crossing the border now that temperatures are rising and dehydration is a possibility.
Donna Police Investigating Man Found Dead in Orchard

Donna (KFXV) — A man’s body was discovered in an orchard in Donna.
According to officials, a resident of the area found the body in an orchard in a rural part of Donna located near the 600 block of South Val Verde road early in the morning.
Police say they have not identified the person as of yet, but believe him to be a young adult.
Fox News cameras were there as investigators collected evidence, and shut down the surrounding area.
